EcoGenesis – Developing a Sustainable Future: Pilot Program in Vanadzor

The "EcoGenesis – Developing a Sustainable Future" program aims to develop the capacities of eco-clubs through non-formal education tools. It is implemented in three phases, at the end of which participants present the results and ideas of their initiatives. The program is currently being carried out in Vanadzor.
Within the program, meetings, discussions, and seminars are organized to encourage active youth participation in environmental protection. Participants have the opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills that will help them become more active and responsible citizens.
The “EcoGenesis – Developing a Sustainable Future” program is implemented by ECO Group Youth Environmental NGO, with the endorsement of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of the Republic of Armenia and funding from the Youth Initiatives Support Fund. The Fund was established by the Armenian Progressive Youth NGO and the Alternative Youth Center.
Target Audience
✱ Youth aged 13-18, living in Vanadzor.
✱ Members of eco-clubs and environmental groups.
✱ Teachers, facilitators, and mentors involved in non-formal education and youth development.

Goals
✱ Develop the capacities of eco-clubs through non-formal education tools․

✱ Support the creation and implementation of youth-led environmental initiatives
Key Activities
✱ Organizing meetings, discussions, and seminars on environmental topics.
✱ Conducting non-formal education sessions and workshops for eco-club members․
✱ Implementing three program phases focused on learning, action, and presentation․
✱ Supporting youth-led environmental initiatives and community projects․
✱ Facilitating knowledge exchange and collaboration among eco-clubs․
✱ Promoting active youth participation in local environmental protection efforts
✱ Presenting results and ideas developed by participants at the final stage of the program
Results
✱ Increased capacity and activity level of eco-clubs in Vanadzor and beyond.
✱ Improved environmental knowledge and practical skills among participants.
✱ Strengthened youth engagement in community-based environmental initiatives.
✱ Development and implementation of new youth-led sustainability projects.
✱ Enhanced cooperation between youth organizations, educational institutions, and local authorities.
✱ Raised awareness of environmental protection and sustainable development among young people
✱ Empowered youth taking active roles as responsible citizens and change-makers
