Less is more a campaign on conscious consumption
Erasmus +
We buy more than we need, and a lot of it ends up in the bin anyway. A new top worn twice, food thrown out of the fridge, a phone replaced "because a newer one came out" every such choice has its carbon footprint. "Less Is More" is an international youth exchange showing that real change for the climate begins not with big slogans, but with everyday decisions.
Over one week, young people from four countries first look at their own habits they run a "wardrobe and fridge audit", calculate their carbon footprint and check how much of what they buy they actually use. They learn the principles of conscious consumption and the circular economy repairing, swapping, secondhand and discuss why advertising and fashion keep pushing us to buy more.
In the second half, participants turn knowledge into action. They learn the basics of social marketing how to choose a target group and craft one strong message and call to action that reaches their peers instead of boring them. Step by step from idea, through slogan and storyboard, to graphics and editing they build their own social campaign and test it on one another. The result is a "less, but better" campaign a slogan, graphics and a short video which participants publish on social media during the exchange. Artificial intelligence helps create the content, speeding up research, writing and production. And because the group brings together people from different countries and backgrounds, the campaign speaks in many voices and connects people across divides.
