“Ctrl+Shift: Virtual Youth Work in Democratic Spaces” Erasmus+ Training Course
From May 8-16, the President of our organization, Seryan Yenokyan, participated as a trainer in the international training course “Ctrl+Shift: Virtual Youth Work in Democratic Spaces”, held in Międzybrodzie Bialskie, Poland.
The project brought together youth workers, trainers, and participants from Bulgaria, Spain, Italy, Croatia, the Czech Republic, and other countries to explore the growing role of digital youth work in promoting democratic participation, intercultural dialogue, and meaningful human connection in online environments.
Throughout the training course, Seryan Yenokyan facilitated a variety of educational sessions using non-formal education methodologies. The activities included interactive simulations, group dynamics exercises, energizers, reflection spaces, and collaborative learning methods aimed at strengthening participants’ competencies in virtual youth work.
An important part of the program was the special pitching day, during which participants developed and presented their own project ideas and initiatives inspired by the themes of the training course. The sessions encouraged creativity, teamwork, critical thinking, and active participation. Beyond the educational activities, the intercultural evenings became one of the most memorable experiences of the project. Participants had the opportunity to share their cultures, traditions, music, food, and personal stories, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere that strengthened mutual understanding and international friendships.
The training course highlighted the importance of creating safe and engaging digital spaces where young people can feel heard, empowered, and connected. It also emphasized that youth work today goes far beyond methods and tools - it is fundamentally about building communities, fostering dialogue, and encouraging active citizenship.
We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this meaningful international project and would like to express our sincere appreciation to our partners and organizers for their trust, cooperation, and hospitality throughout the entire experience.
